We had planned to drive to somewhere between Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio before stopping for the night.... but John just kept on driving!! When we came to Piqua, Ohio, we stopped and spent the night.... Got up Friday morning and enjoyed a terrific breakfast at Cracker Barrel. John even bought me a birthday present and had it wrapped.... Can't wait to open it :)
We arrived at Trip & Jade's house around 3:30 and played with the kiddos while we waited for their landlords to come and inspect the house for check-out and deposit return.... Poppy and Carter and Hydie ran around in the carport chasing each other and laughing so hard.... it was such fun to see them playing together.
Around 5:00 pm, we loaded up and headed North toward the Upper Peninsula. Thanks to Jessica Douglas, we knew Frankenmuth would be a cool place to visit, & having heard that Frankenmuth has the most awesome restaurant, we decided to stop for their famous family style chicken dinner. While everything we ate was delicious, our favorites included the chicken noodle soup, cole slaw, and fried chicken. However..... when we left the cars parked, about a half mile from the restaurant, we left jackets in the car; we were NOT expecting a BLIZZARD after dinner..... None of us had jackets or hats or umbrellas!!! We asked the shuttle driver to take us to our cars... even though they weren't parked in the regular parking lot on his route... HE DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOooooo grateful!!!!!!!!!!! But we laughed all the way... and thanked the driver.... again and again and again..... :D
