Day 7: Crossing the Canadian Border

The big kids LOVE Daddy's new red truck...

Made it to the border...and everything seemed like it was going so well.  Trip, Jade, & I made it through the border crossing without incident.... and THEN THERE WAS POPPY!!!  When I went through, the crossing, the smart-allec agent kept asking me if I had guns, ammo, alcohol, or tobacco with me.  I kept saying no, but then he asked "where is your husband?" I told him, "in the truck behind me."  He asked if he owns guns and I told him yes.  He then got a really bad attitude and asked me "where are his guns?"  I said that I didn't know b/c he'd shipped them. He wanted proof of shipping and I told him I didn't have it.  Soooo, he finally let me through.... as I drove through, I KNEW Poppy was IN TROUBLE!
In Canada....Now, Trip, Jade, the kids, and I are all in Canada... but fearing for my poor John, I am becoming quite nervous and shaken up.  Distracted by nerves, I drove past the little parking lot where Trip & Jade had pulled over to wait on us.  So I just pulled over on the side of the road to wait...  Trip told me as I pulled over that, yes, indeed, Poppy had been called inside the building.  Now I was visibly shaking!  DUNNO why, but I was!!!

While we waited to hear Poppy's fate, I calmed down somewhat and decided to try and get to the parking lot where Trip and Jade were waiting.... BAD decision..... b/c I was still upset, I didn't see the correct turn to get into the lot and dang it, the only other turn off was to go THROUGH the dang border crossing AGAIN!!!!!  OMG!  Now, my nerves are freaking out! LOL

So, I drove up to the crossing and told the agent what happened; she could see I was visibly shaken and stressed about getting back to the kids.  I did NOT tell her my husband was inside being questioned!!! LOL  She was so concerned she stepped outside her little station and came toward the car, asking me, "are you sure you are ok?"  I said yes, that I would be fine when I got back to where the kids were waiting on me.

She told me carefully where to go to turn around and get in line.... to CROSS the BORDER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL  Pulled up to the guard station and told him what happened, just as nice as he could be, he let me through.... WITHOUT the 3rd degree of the first agent.... he really was a smart-a$$.... (sorry... but he was!!!)

Found a really cool TeaRoom for dinner...
Carter & Hydie LOVED all the teapots...
Poppy loving on Bryson...

Day 6: Still in Montana

So, yesterday, while driving through Montana, we had a little issue with the Ford... John was pulling our trailer with all our stuff and the truck began to have trouble pulling some of the big hills... sooooooooooooooo
We took the kids sight-seeing and found a fish hatchery, while Trip and John went truck shopping.

The fish knew it was breakfast time :)
